Assigned my second year in the design program, this project was to create a magazine brand with a cover and two stories for any topic of my choice. I chose to create a sports magazine similar to Sports Illustrated, covering a variety of different stories. The film room is an important element for any NFL player, where they go in and dissect and critique their own play, and also understand their next opponent more in depth. That’s why I chose that name for my magazine, targeting a more sophisticated audience with knowledge of the X’s and O’s that go into the game. I chose a different color scheme for each story, along with similar layouts and imagery to still make each section feel cohesive. This was one of the first projects where I was given the option to use any content in my project, so designing something in the sports world really excited me, which lead me to enjoying creating sports design work.
